My grandmother is in denial about being 90, or somewhere really, really close to it. She is not to be blamed — my great grandparents, apparently, never told her about her year of birth. All they offered in the name of information was that it was some time close to the Durga Puja, a festival celebrated by the Bengali community. Given that both her children are already on the other side of the 60s, and that early marriages weren’t exactly common in her family, it is convenient to assume that she would be 90, or just a few years short of it.

For those new to these terms, subreddit is a space for people to discuss matters such as financial planning and how to overcome debt.

Yet last week, I recommended meditation to a colleague who was sharing how she’s had a tough year. My exact words were: ‘May be, it will bring a certain sense of calmness to your day.’ I don’t know where the conviction or words came from.
